Gretchen Pruett has been working as a professional writer and editor for over a decade. She launched her own firm, Pruett Writing, in 2016.
A lifelong devotion to writing and language led Gretchen to pursue an education based in the humanities. She earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan, where she majored in the fields of Anthropology and Philosophy, and minored in Ancient Greek Language and Literature. Gretchen continued her studies at the University of Michigan, earning an M.A. in Education. While a graduate student, she discovered her enthusiasm for the field of History and studied at the University of Delaware as a Hagley Fellow. There, she combined her literary interest with empirical research to study the history of technology, the environment, labor history, consumer culture and industrialization. She earned an M.A. in History as well as a Museum Studies Certificate.
Gretchen's continued enthusiasm for writing paired with her high standards for writing have made her practice successful.
